Wellbeing Week 2023

As part of the Amber Flag initiative, we held a Wellbeing Week in the school from the

7th to the 13th of February. Each day the children participated in a range of wellbeing

activities.

With the bank holiday on the 6th, we began our Wellbeing week with Thankful

Tuesday on the 7th. For this we focused on the importance of gratitude and the

children worked on their new Gratitude Journals.

On Wednesday, we had our Wellbeing Wednesday. Mandy Engelke Desmond, a yoga

teacher visited the school for this and completed yoga/storytelling workshops with all

classes. The children really enjoyed the classes and we hope to see Mandy back with

  us again next year.

On Thursday, we will had our ‘Thoughtful Thursday’ where the focus was on friendship

and the importance of being inclusive and showing kindness to others.  We created an

Acts of Kindness tree. All children were to look out for times in the day where others

showed kindness towards them or towards others and they recorded these times on

their kindness hearts.

And on Friday, we will had our ‘Feel Good Friday’. For this we hosted a fundraising

event for Pieta House, a ‘Crazy Hair Day’. The children and all the staff made a

fantastic effort in making their hair as crazy as they could.

Thanks to all those who donated, we managed to raise €180 for the charity.

Overall, we had a lovely week and look forward to our next Wellbeing Week next year.
